In the fall semester of 2017-2018 academic year, two student consultants from Cornell Institute for Public Affairs - Enknhzul Altangerel and Carolina Araya Chaves - worked on viability study of bakery business in Lira, Uganda, as part of an ongoing research project on reintegration of Former Child Soldiers (FCS) in Uganda.

New Faces New Voices, an advocacy group that focuses on getting women involved in the financial sector in Africa summed up some of the effects of social impact investing on women specifically. The report stated that “women-owned businesses in Africa are growing at a faster rate than women-owned businesses worldwide.”
