Bishop John Rucyahana is the Chairman of Unity and Reconciliation Commission in Rwanda, founder of the Sonrise Academy, and is an Anglican Bishop. Bishop John was born in 1945, and lived in Rwanda until 1959. He went into exile in Congo and Uganda in 1964, returning to Rwanda in 1996. In Part 1, Jamie Van Leeuwen talks with Bishop John about the causes and losses in Rwanda as a result of the genocide. He speaks of his efforts towards the orphans left behind, and Rwanda today. In Part 2, Jamie and Bishop John continue their discussion of Rwanda's recovery, including President Kagame's vision, educational innovations, and the need for NGO and individual involvement in Rwanda. They close with Bishop John's challenge to know we can make a better world.
